Another Great Night At The Joiners Arms Hunwick

Everything went spooktastic last night at The Joiners. Ofcourse it was Halloween and it was our Halloween evening.

All day was spent setting up the pub in cobwebs, spiders, pumpkins and more for what we anticipated to be a fab family night and no-one was disappointed. joanne got herself dressed up as a witch and many of our visitors went the whole hog with their outfits for the evening.

The course of the night was to be centred around the dining tables with our Spectre's Board special Halloween deals which were three courses for £9 or £7.95 for two and included Hanible th Cannibal's Liver and Onions and Ian's own Ghoulish Goulash or on the other specials board were Kangaroo, Nile Perch, Witch (Cornish Sole), T'Bone steak and a super tender Sweet and Sour Pork.

The night was going nicely when the good folk of the village turned up with their charity collecting tins for MacMillan Cancer Support and the other good folk dropped in a little cash for this worthy cause.

It was a fantastic sight to see as children aged 5, 6 and 7 were taken around the Village Trick or Treating for charity by a handful of adults and some of our teenagers. Teenagers are getting a bad press these days and a lot of people see them as hoody wearing, knife yielding mini mafia's, well I can tell you that isn't the case here. It is really nice to see that what we read in our papers does not apply.

A BIG thanks must go out to The Smith family for their efforts last night and hopefully they raised a decent sum for the charity. well done everyone involved.

The banter in the bar was warming up nicely just as a certain website maintenance chap had to leave as his homemade make-up began to actually pull his face off, so for your reference do not try to make a injured look from water, flour and food colouring. It dries rock hard, sticks to your face and then begins to shrink, oh and the food colouring does not come off.

Pop back soon for a bit more
